Dr. Costakis Constantinou

Short CV

Costakis Constantinou (PhD) holds a Ph.D. in Sociological Sciences (Political Sciences) from University of Sofia “St. Clement Ochritski” and from the Higher Certifying Commission of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria obtained on the 15th of February 1996, and a B.A. and MA in Philosophy from the Academy for Social Sciences and Social Management, Sofia, Bulgaria. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Arts, Communication and Culture Studies of Frederick University, Cyprus. He is the Vice Dean at the the Department of Arts, Communication and Culture Studies and coordinator of the program of Journalism and Mass Media. He is teaching courses in undergraduate and graduate programs at the School of Arts, Communication and Culture Studies and at the School the Education and Social Sciences and especially in the Department of the Art and Communication and the Department Psychology and Social Work. From 1995 to 2018 he was member of the faculty of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Journalism Communication and Mass Media. His research interests include Globalisation, European Union and Cyprus, the Cyprus problem, News Agencies/ Mass Media Communications/ Education and Mass Media. Dr. Constantinou has participated as a principal investigator or research associate in research projects funded by the EU and other institutions. He has published books, scientific papers in international journals and referred conference proceedings. He has participated in more than 40 scientifically conferences and professional congresses in the fields of political and social sciences and mass media.

Κωστάκης Κωνσταντίνου, κατέχει Ph.D στις Κοινωνιολογικές Επιστήμες(Πολιτική Επιστήμη) από το Πανεπιστήμιο Σόφιας «Αγ. Κλίμεντ Οχριτσκι» και την Ανώτατη Αρχή Πιστοποίησης του Συμβουλίου Υπουργών της Δημοκρατίας της Βουλγαρίας που λήφθηκε στις 15 Φεβρουαρίου 1996. Είναι κάτοχος ΒΑ και ΜΑ Φιλοσοφίας από την Ακαδημία Κοινωνικών Επιστημών και Κοινωνικής Διοίκησης, Σόφια, Βουλγαρία, 1987. Είναι Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής στο Τμήμα Τεχνών, Επικοινωνίας και Πολιτιστικών Σπουδών, Πανεπιστήμιο Frederick, Κύπρος. Είναι Αναπληρωτής Κοσμήτορας της Σχολής Τεχνών, Επικοινωνίας και Πολιτιστικών Σπουδών και Συντονιστής του Προγράμματος Δημοσιογραφίας και Μέσων Επικοινωνίας. Διδάσκει μαθήματα σε προπτυχιακά και μεταπτυχιακά προγράμματα στη Σχολή Τεχνών, Επικοινωνίας και Πολιτιστικών Σπουδών και στη Σχολή Επιστημών Αγωγής και Κοινωνικών Επιστημών και ειδικότερα στα Τμήματα Τεχνών και Επικοινωνίας και Ψυχολογίας και Κοινωνικών Επιστημών. Από το 1995 μέχρι το 2008 διετέλεσε μέλος της Σχολής Ανθρωπιστικών και Κοινωνικών Επιστημών και για αρκετά χρόνια Πρόεδρος του Τμήματος Δημοσιογραφίας και Μέσων Επικοινωνίας. Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα περιλαμβάνουν την Παγκοσμιοποίηση και Διεθνές Σύστημα, Ευρωπαϊκή και Κύπρος, Κυπριακό πρόβλημα, και Πρακτορεία Ειδήσεων/ Μέσα Μαζικής Επικοινωνίας, Εκπαίδευση και Μέσα Επικοινωνίας. Ο Δρ. Κωνσταντίνου συμμετείχε ως ερευνητής σε ερευνητικά προγράμματα χρηματοδοτούμενα από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ενωση και άλλους. Εχει δημοσιεύσει βιβλία και επιστημονικά άρθρα. Συμμετείχε σε πέραν των σαράντα επιστημονικών διασκέψεων και επαγγελματικών συνεδρίων στις Πολιτικές και Κοινωνικές Επιστήμες και στα Μέσα Επικοινωνίας.
