Frederick University ready to host four Ceremonies celebrating academic excellence and ethos

We are all set to celebrate the achievements of our University community in three Graduation Ceremonies and an Academic Excellence Award Ceremony taking place in Limassol and Nicosia between 27-30 June

The first Graduation Ceremony will be held in the presence of H.E. the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides. The ceremony will be held on June 27 at the Limassol Municipal Theater.

Overall, for the academic year 2022-23, Frederick University is organizing four ceremonies:


• 1st Graduation Ceremony, June 27, 20:00, Limassol Municipal Theater: The first Graduation Ceremony will take place in the presence of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides. During the ceremony, undergraduate and postgraduate students from the School of Education and Social Sciences (conventional and distance learning programs), the School of Engineering, the School of Business and Law, and the School of Arts, Communication, and Cultural Studies studying at Frederick University in Limassol will graduate.

• Academic Excellence Award Ceremony, June 28, 19:00, Nicosia Municipal Theater: This Ceremony rewards the top graduates of all Undergraduate and Postgraduate Study Programs of the academic year 2022-23, as well as the graduates of the University's PhD Programs. Additionally, the Michael Frederickou Awards will be presented, recognizing the ethics and excellence of the University's academic and administrative staff, students, and graduates. The Michael Frederickou Awards were established in 2021 in memory of the University's founder, who passed away in August 2020. The ceremony will be addressed by the Minister of Interior, Mr. Konstantinos Ioannou. The keynote speaker will be Professor Costas Papanikolas, a member of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Arts. Congratulations to all honorees will be delivered through a pre-recorded message by the Cypriot Nobel laureate, Professor Christopher Pissarides.

• 2nd Graduation Ceremony, June 29, 20:00, Nicosia Municipal Theater: The Minister of Transport, Communications, and Works, Mr. Alexis Vafeades, will address the Graduation Ceremony of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students from the School of Engineering.

• 3rd Graduation Ceremony, June 30, 20:00, Nicosia Municipal Theater: During the final Graduation Ceremony, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students from the School of Education and Social Sciences, the School of Health Sciences, the School of Business and Law and the School of Arts, Communication, and Cultural Studies studying at Frederick University in Nicosia will graduate. The ceremony will be addressed by the Minister of Education, Sports, and Youth, Dr. Athena Michaelidou.

All ceremonies will be addressed by the President of Frederick University's Council, Ms. Natassa Frederick, and the Rector of the University, Professor George Demosthenous. Additionally, Frederick University graduates will be congratulated by the Rectors of the eight partner universities of the EU-CONEXUS European University alliance via pre-recorded messages.

The ceremonies will be livestreamed on Frederick University's YouTube channel and on Facebook.
