| Learning Outcomes of the course unit | By the end of the course, the students should be able to:- Define and contrast the basic principles and the meaning of Museum Education and the applications of Museum Education in teaching.
- List the purposes of Museum Education.
- Discuss and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the integration of museum education in pre-primary schools, and recognize the importance of it in contemporary society.
- Identify the problems that schools are facing in the application of museum education in teaching.
- Describe ways that will help the integration of museum education in the Cypriot educational system.
- Analyze the role of the teacher in the promotion of museum education in schools.
- Distinguish the basic steps for the preparation of a visit at a museum.
- Create and apply educational programs at museums for pre-primary school children.

Course Contents | - Theory for the meaning, the basic principles, the application and the purpose of Museum Education in education.
- Pedagogical theory of Museum Education in Pre-primary Education.
- Educational programs for Museum education. Different categories of museums.
- Methodological and educational approaches for Museum Education.
- The role of the monuments/ art works in society.
- Presentation of Cypriot and European artists through their art works. Illustration of the aesthetical and plastic characteristics of the art works.
- Visits at museums, galleries and archeological places.
