Learning Outcomes of the course unitBy the end of the course, the students should be able to:
  1. Understand the relationship between technology integration and interdisciplinarity in the educational practice in different disciplines within the framework of the official curriculum.
  2. Using open and closed software and Web 2.0 tools to develop educational material in difference disciplines (subject matters).
  3. Develop knowledge in the learning theories related to the design and development of learning environments enhanced with new technologies, educational software and web-based applications.
  4. Develop knowledge and skills in designing educational software and web-based applications based on modern principles of pedagogical design.
  5. Develop knowledge and skills in teaching methodologies on how to integrate new technologies and applying new technologies integration models to various disciplines.
  6. Produce multimodal learning material using multimedia applications in order to achieve multiliteracies.
  7. Evaluate and choose the most appropriate educational software and/or web-based application in each given case in order to maximize its value within the teaching and learning process.

Planned learning activities and teaching methodsThe theoretical part of the course (content of the taught concepts) is delivered by means of lectures as well as workshops following pedagogical principles, instructional design and lesson planning. Students will design and develop learning environments where new technologies are integrated as learning tools.
