| Learning Outcomes of the course unit | By the end of the course, the students should be able to:- They have developed their knowledge about the administration of health services and human resource management in order to be able to evaluate specific choices from a broader political, economic and social environment.
- Understand the complexity and the basic principles of a Health Service Administration.
- Distinguish the key design criteria, organization, management and leadership for successful management of health services.
- Understand and analyze the importance of marketing in management of these services.
- Identify and reach critical changes facing the health sector.
- Seek ways of dealing with resistance to these changes.
- Develop knowledge and skills in the management of innovation.

Course Contents | - The analysis of the importance of strategic planning in the health sector
- The description of the external and internal environment of a healthcare facility
- The deepening of the concept of management and of its operation description
- An understanding of the main features of scientific schools of management and leadership theories
- The recording of an effective model of human resources management in a Health Service
- The analysis of how to attract young workers stay at work and evaluation of their performance
- Knowledge of the basic theories of motivation and importance of group dynamics and conflict management
- Knowledge and application of theories and import process changes and innovation

Planned learning activities and teaching methods |
The teaching of the theoretical part includes lectures, case-studies, and work groups to better understand the theoretical units regarding the introduction to management health services and human resources in health organizations. A whiteboard, power point, pictures, case-studies and work groups are used to assist teaching, in order to achieve the better understanding and comprehension of theory.
