Course Contents | - The need of lifelong readers and the practices to develop such readers, as part of the target for a higher level of literacy skills - The research of reading habits, reading preferences, reading practices, and attitudes towards reading. - Reading promotion, critical literacy and multiliteracies. Factors that influence children’s attitudes towards reading in general and reading literature in particular. - Information and resources about successful reading programs. - Examination of principles and strategies for promoting the joy of reading and the building and sustaining of critical reading communities. - Teaching scenarios for the promotion of reading. Planned learning activities and teaching methods | All lessons are organised in two parts. The first part has the form of a lecture, and is mostly theoretical, and the second has workshop format. The students have access to the computer presentations used for the lectures. | ||||||||||
