| Learning Outcomes of the course unit | By the end of the course, the students should be able to:- Outline the contribution of various governmental and non governmental organisations to shipping and international trade.
- Compare and contrast the purpose of trade and ship owners’ organisations and how such dialogue changes shipping practices and trade.
- Relate the use of various INCO Terms to Trade negotiations and cargo transportation.
- Compare and Contrast the two basic Charter Parties, Time and Voyage. Clearly illustrate when each is appropriate.
- Outline the salient points of each of the two Charter Parties.
- Analyse the three legal roles of the Bill of Lading and illustrate how these apply in daily use of the Bs/L by trade.
