Course Contents |
Introduction of the course: to introduce the development of Interior Design. Lectures supported by illustrated presentations: This course provides a knowledge tank for a variety of approaches in the critical understanding of Interior Design. The course also increases students’ comprehension of the processes and products of interior design, encouraging them to become more discerning and aware consumers of culture. Attention is focused on the meaning and context of artistic and cultural activities now and in the past, in industrialized and non-industrial societies. Student assessments (1): student groups (3-4 students) are assessed by a Seminar which they present an oral presentation based on various eras of history from the taught course that the student wishes to research and analyze Student assessments (2): Students submit written essays accompanied by illustrated means outlining each era of history from taught lectures and a critical analysis of the relationship of historical styles within the context of contemporary design. | ||||||||

Planned learning activities and teaching methods | The taught part of the course is delivered by means of illustrated lectures conducted with the help of computer presentations. Lectures also include video presentations. Lectures are supplemented with extended project briefings, student research and presentation, group critiques and individual tutorials. | ||||||||
