Book on the use of technology in schools during COVID-19, co-edited by Dr Nikleia Eteokleous

Dr. Nikleia Eteokleous, Associate Professor in the Department of Education, is co- editor of a book on "The Power of Technology in School Leadership during COVID-19," recently published by leading international publishing company Springer Publications.

Dr Antonios Kafa, Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at the Open University of Cyprus is the co-editor.

The book delves into the challenges faced by schools in their digital transformation during the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on the ability of school leaders to adopt and use digital technologies.

What obstacles arose from the lack of digital capacity among school leaders? The authors draw from empirical information gathered in schools across Europe, the USA, and Australia, sharing their expertise in Educational Technology and Educational Leadership to enhance the readers' understanding of the aftermath of school leadership and technology during the pandemic. In addition to Dr. Eteokleous, the authors include Dr. Olga Lyra and Professor Angelos Rodafinos, members of our university’s Faculty as well.

"We bear witness to new technologies becoming increasingly integral to the educational process. The works included in this book demonstrate the decisive role of educational leaders in integrating and utilizing technology in schools, drawing from the profound experiences of the pandemic and the challenges that emerged," notes Dr. Nikleia Eteokleous, whose expertise lies in Educational Technology. Dr. Eteokleous' research interests include the integration of new technologies into the educational process as learning tools. Thanks to her expertise in the use of Digital Technology in education and distance learning, she heads the Teaching Academy, an initiative of the EU-CONEXUS European Universities Alliance, of which Frederick University is a full member. The Teaching Academy aims to integrate new and emerging technologies into the programs of the nine European universities participating in the Alliance, adopting innovative teaching methods and fostering future skills in the educational process.
