Description of the main research interests and activities of the team/lab:
Engineering Management & Aquaculture Engineering research team was established in 2007 and its main research interests/ competences can be distinguished into two main areas:
- Engineering Management: The Team has notable research work in areas of: (i) engineering economic analysis, (ii) technology assessment of emerging technologies, (iii) business process modeling and re-engineering, and (iv) Life-Cycle analysis of emerging technologies. The Team applied this knowledge into the following Industries: Construction, Automotive, Food, Aquaculture and Renewable Energy. The Team has an extensive web of associates (research and industry alike) across Europe and Globally.
- Aquaculture Engineering: The Team has systematically build expertise in areas of: (i) Aquaculture operations management/ optimization, (ii) aquaculture mooring requirements investigation and scenario development, (c) smart monitoring (sensor) applications of aquaculture operations and (d) renewable energy sources applications in the aquaculture industry. The Team successfully initiated, coordinated and completed a number of research projects in the aforementioned areas, with industrial and research partners from Europe and the USA alike. Currently, The team extends its know-how into sustainable management of the marine environment.
