Maria Stavropoulou is a barrister and solicitor, specialised in Maritime Law. Being from Cyprus, she is practicing law since 2001, from various posts and positions in Greece and the UK. She is currently the Legal Counsel of Load Line Marine S.A. in Athens. Prior to this position, she has worked as a senior associate at CLYDE & CO, an associate at HILL DICKINSON, as in-house lawyer at LOUIS CRUISES and also worked for LONDON P&I Club. She specialises in Shipping Litigation and provides legal advice with regards to charterparty and bill of lading disputes, MOA disputes, P & I work involving cargo claims, arrest proceedings, wet shipping work including salvage and collisions, insurance claims, incorporation of companies and drafting of corporate documents, ship sale & purchase transactions including disputes arising therefrom. She is an expert in negotiations and mediation, being a CEDR internationally qualified mediator, while she has been a member of the Lincoln’s Inn Chambers since 1999. She has studied Law at the University of Bristol and she has a second degree in Economics from the University of Melbourne.
