Η µουσικοπαιδαγωγός Δρ. Τζιωρτζίνα Αθανασίου γεννήθηκε στις 29 Αυγούστου 1978. Έχει αποκοµίσει τους εξής τίτλους σπουδών: BMus από το London College of Music & Media (1999), MA in Music Education από το Middlesex University (2000) και PhD in Music Education από το Cumbria University (2011). Από το 2002 µέχρι και σήµερα ανήκει στο Διδακτικό Προσωπικό του Παιδαγωγικού Τµήµατος του Frederick University Cyprus / Frederick Institute of Technology αναλαµβάνοντας τη διδασκαλία µουσικών και µουσικοπαιδαγωγικών θεµάτων σε φοιτητές-δασκάλους, νηπιαγωγούς και βρεφονηπιοκόµους. Παράλληλα, από το 2015 και έπειτα, ανέλαβε και τον συντονισµό και τη διδασκαλία του µαθήµατος “Μουσική στην ειδική εκπαίδευση“ στο εξ’αποστάσεως Μεταπτυχιακό στην Ειδική Εκπαίδευση. Οι δραστηριότητες της Τζιωρτζίνας επεκτείνονται το ακαδηµαϊκό έτος 2018-19 και έπειτα µε τη διοργάνωση ή/ και διεξαγωγή πρακτικών µουσικών σεµιναρίων για εκπαιδευτικούς προσχολικής / πρωτοσχολικής εκπαίδευσης µε σκοπό την ενδυνάµωση του εκπαιδευτικού τους έργου. Μέχρι τώρα έχει πραγµατοποιήσει εκπαιδευτικά σεµινάρια µε τις εξής θεµατικές: 1. “Το Α. Π. Μουσικής Αγωγής προσχολικής εκπαίδευσης και η χρήση των κρουστών οργάνων τάξης: από τη θεωρία στην πράξη”. (2018) 2. “Κατασκευή αυτοσχέδιων µουσικών οργάνων και η ένταξη τους σε µουσικές δραστηριότητες”. (2019) 3. “Η δηµιουργική ένταξη του γνωστικού αντικειµένου της µουσικής στα παραµύθια και ιστορίες των παιδιών προσχολικής / πρωτοσχολικής ηλικίας”. (2019) 4. “Δυσκολίες εκφοράς και κατανόησης του λόγου παιδιών προσχολικής / πρωτοσχολικής ηλικίας και πώς µπορούµε να παρέµβουµε µουσικά στην τάξη”. (2022) 5. “Προσεγγίζοντας το συναίσθηµα µέσα από τη µουσική αγωγή στην προσχολική ηλικία, αξιοποιώντας σύγχρονα τεχνολογικά µέσα” . (2022, 2023) Επιπρόσθετα, στο παρόν στάδιο συµµετέχει ως ερευνήτρια στο Ευρωπαϊκό Ερευνητικό Πρόγραµµα CARE/ SS (Critical ARts Education for Sustainable Societies) το οποίο συντονίζει το Πανεπιστήµιο Frederick, σε συνεργασία µε Ευρωπαϊκά Πανεπιστήµια (Adam Mickiewicz University-Πολωνία, Αριστοτέλειο ΠανεπιστήµιοΕλλάδα, Πανεπιστήµιο Μάλτας, Πανεπιστήµιο Βαρκελώνης-Ισπανία)

Dr. Georgina Athanasiou, music educator, was born on August 29, 1978. She holds the following academic degrees: BMus from the London College of Music & Media (1999), MA in Music Education from Middlesex University (2000), and PhD in Music Education from Cumbria University (2011). Since 2002, she has been a member of the Teaching Staff of Education Department at Frederick University Cyprus / Frederick Institute of Technology, teaching music and music education topics in Primary and PrePrimary Education undergraduate courses, and in Nursery diploma course. Additionally, since 2015, she has taken on the coordination and teaching of the course "Music in Special Education" in the distance-learning Postgraduate Program in Special Education. Dr. Athanasiou's activities extend from the academic year 2018-19 onwards, with the organisation and conduct of practical music seminars for preschool / primary school educators aimed at enhancing their educational work. Up to now, she has conducted educational seminars on the following topics: • “The Music Curriculum of pre-primary education and the use of percussion instruments in class: from theory to practice" (2018) • "Self-making musical instruments and their implementation in musical activities" (2019) • "The creative integration of the subject of music in pre-school children’s stories and fairy tales" (2019) • "Speech and comprehensive difficulties that pre-school children experience and how we can interfere musically in class" (2022) • "Approaching emotion through music in pre-school education using digital tools and technology" (2022, 2023) Furthermore, she currently participates as a Researcher in the Erasmus European project CARE/ss (Critical ARts Education for Sustainable Societies), coordinated by Frederick University in collaboration with European Universities (Adam Mickiewicz University-Poland, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki-Greece, University of Malta, University of Barcelona-Spain)
