Panayiotis Charalambous is the co-ordinator of the BA program in Audio Visual Communication offered by the School of Arts, Communication and Cultural Studies at Frederick University. He teaches courses in the area of TV and Film production. Prior to joining the FU, he has been the Audio Visual Communication program supervisor since 2000 at Frederick Institute of Technology. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Arts in Communication Arts with emphasis on TV & Film production from New York Institute of Technology, USA. Panayiotis is an independent filmmaker with research interest and professional practice that explores various types of video & film productions such as documentaries, short feature films, educational & instructional videos, and video art that investigate the relation of image and narrative, in the context of today’s urgencies. Panayiotis’ work has been broadcasted nationally at all major TV channels in Cyprus and internationally through various digital platforms and venues. He has collaborated with many well-known artists in Cyprus in the production of video art projects that have been exhibited in worldwide-recognised venues, exhibitions and museums. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a TV Director at a nationwide TV Channel where he directed various kinds of programs such as daily TV sitcom, Documentaries, Sport Shows, Talk Shows, Video Clips, Live Events etc.
