Dr. Elena Ketteni obtained a Bachelor degree in Economics, from the University of Cyprus; she holds an MSc in Economics and Econometrics from University of Bristol and a PhD in Economics from the University of Cyprus, which she joined after completion of her PhD as a visiting lecture, for the courses of Economic Growth, Quantitative Methods, Introduction to Econometrics and Econometrics II and III. She was also employed as a special scientist in the Technological University of Cyprus for the course of Statistics. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of economics and econometrics (statistics) at Frederick University, teaching courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate programs of the Department as well as in the Interschool postgraduate program in Health Management (distance learning and conventional). Her area of expertise is on applied econometrics in the fields of economic growth and productivity. Her research lies on the effects of new information and communication technologies, human, FDI and public capital as well as energy on the growth and productivity of an economy. She has presented in numerous international conferences. She has publications in refereed academic journals like the Journal of Macroeconomics, Canadian Journal of Economics, Macroeconomic dynamics and the Economic Bulletin among others. She has also worked on various projects, on effects of energy on economic growth as well as agriculture productivity in various EU countries, from the European Union in collaboration with the University of Cyprus as well as other universities and also collaborated with the Economics Research Centre, University of Cyprus, for a publication of a quarterly productivity bulletin.
