Dr Stavros Hadjiyiannis is a holder of a PhD in Production Engineering & Coatings and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) in Greece. During his PhD, he was research assistant at the AUTH laboratory for machine tools and manufacturing engineering (EEDM) for 4 years where he participated in various research projects and he has 15 publications in international journals. After his PhD he was Post-doctoral Research Associate at Frederick Research Center for one year. Since 2005 he was the Technical Manager of the Research Division of CNE and currently he is the Mechanical Engineering & Prototyping Manager of CNE Research and Innovation Center Ltd. He has experience in component and machine 2D-3D design, CAD–CAM systems, manufacturing processes, prototyping, optimization, FEM simulation and reverse engineering. During his research career, he participated in more than 20 applied National and European research projects. With regards to his academic expertise, between 2007-2012 he was teaching the laboratory subjects for “Material Science and Technology” and “Strength of Materials” courses at University of Cyprus. Since 2007 he is visiting lecturer at Frederick University teaching the courses “Strength of Materials II”, “Manufacturing Processes” and currently the “Mechanical Engineering design and optimization”.
