Georgia Loizou is a qualified Architect and an urban designer, member of the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK) and the Cyprus Architects Association. She studied Architecture at the NTUA, Greece (1999-2005), and continued her academic training at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL (2007-2008) where she completed the M.Arch in Urban Design.During her Diploma Thesis “Pafos Contemporary Art Centre” she studied the role of contemporary art museums and the impact of large scale architectural interventions on economy, society and urban environments. Her research experience and interest focuses on the transformation of the city’s function and image due to the rapid development of Information and Telecommunication Technologies (ITT). This interest has played a key role in influencing her Final Report in London, titled “BellLaneCreek.net”, where she explored the impact of ITT and the digital world on the physical space of the city.Georgia has worked at Ioakim – Loizas architects (2005-2007), getting involved in the design of diverse projects, varying from small-scale housing to mixed-use developments. Since 2009, at Polytia Armos architects she has been responsible for the architectural design of private and public buildings, for the urban design of master planning studies and for landscape design projects.
