Description of the main research interests and activities of the team/lab:

The Marketing and Marketing Communications team focuses on issues relating to marketing communications especially advertising to children. Emphasis is given on the effects of advertising on children and their families and children's understanding of advertising. Currently the team is working on developing an advertising education programme for children aged 6-12 years old. The aforementioned project is based on data collected on the effects of advertising (cognitive, behavioural and affective) on children through focus groups. The program will assist children in becoming more critical towards advertising persuasive messages. The team additionally works on issues that have to do with environmental and sustainable marketing and is involved in a number of EU funded projects working mostly on the preparation of socioeconomic studies and communications plans.
