Learning Outcomes of the course unit

By the end of the course, the students should be able to:

Develop a theoretical framework for research
Identify and justify the choice of research methodology
Identify an appropriate research strategy and analyze bibliography
Identify and adopt appropriate research methods
Demonstrate an ability to write with fluency, clarity and precision
Describe the theoretical background of his/her research topic, the selection and description of the required research method to solve the research problem.
Evaluate and discuss scientific research topics in his/her own field
Analyze data and report findings in the format of a 15,000 word dissertation.

Course Contents

Dissertation is an output of research. The student shows his ability and skills to work independently. Original results of research must be included in the dissertation. The dissertation is put together by the student under his/her supervisor's guidelines. The topic of a dissertation must be approved by a relevant Ph.D. study programme professional board.
Students obtain knowledge in given course in accordance with requirements and course programme. The dissertation thesis contains above all these parts: summary of the present state of problems with reference to used source - books, targets of the thesis, description of own solution, original outcomes and their use in bulletins and projects, target analysis for science and experience, recommendation for continuing to written thesis in required topic and branch, list of student's published works and their relevant quotations, list of used literature, declaration of intellectual property and an annotation generally in Greek.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

We use a variety of teaching methods to meet different learning styles and needs of the course. This means that the student can expect a set of lectures, seminars, case studies and learning based on group discussions and problems (problem solving, student oriented). The result is a rich learning experience where students can benefit from courses which are relevant, practical and current.
Graduate students are required to participate during their studies in scientific activities (conferences, workshops) objects associated with the Program enriching their knowledge with additional knowledge to the theoretical and practical training in relation to their practical training and preparation of their thesis work.
Courses other than teaching or instructional books proposed by each teacher to study their contents usually offer several other forms of additional teaching materials such as notes, educational CD / DVD, Internet courses, or hung on the website of the Department or the educational platform (e-class) of the graduate program .
It is possible, at the discretion of the teacher, lessons supplemented by classroom exercises and assignments, individual or group, to better their strengthening. In any case, at the discretion of the teacher to determine the specific requirements of the exercise (or exercises) in each course, or other work, which should prepare the student for the course.
