Learning Outcomes of the course unitBy the end of the course, the students should be able to:
  1. Identify and describe various printing methods & production techniques.
  2. Integrate sketchbook development/experimentation and produce final work ready for distribution for various media such as print and the web.
  3. Employ technical knowledge that involves designing, developing and forwarding graphic material to the final production line.
  4. Develop and convert various sketches, work in progress and final work to different colour systems and formats appropriate to the medium to be reproduced on.
  5. Identify and describe various properties of paper stock such as weigh, thickness, opacity, brightness etc.
  6. Assess project work development through comments and discussions on a group presentation.

Course Contents

Print production: students are introduced to various printing methods through a series of multimedia presentations.

Paper stock selection: students get familiarised with various paper stocks and their individual properties.

Production techniques: students explore production methods in various forms of visual practice from print based media to screen based media.
