Learning Outcomes of the course unitBy the end of the course, the students should be able to:
  1. Elaborate the level of communication and cooperation among the various departments of a radio organization.
  2. Use the Greek language, articulation, tone and colour of the voice. Apply all the dexterities required for the correct use of written and oral word.
  3. Detect the different techniques of newswriting and exercising in the writing of news using the different techniques.
  4. Utilize the different interview methods that can be used in the radio.
  5. Evaluate internal pressures on reporting.

Course Contents

The various departments of a radio organization/channel. Functions, hierarchy and responsibilities.

Speech on the radio. Importance of the correct use of speech. Articulation, tone, colour of voice. Effect on the listener.  

The use of the different interview techniques on the radio.

The production of a News Bulletin on the radio. Techniques for writing the news.

Radio reporting. Techniques to produce interesting and pioneer radio reports. Pressures on reporters and ways to overcome them.

The production of new radio programs.

Students are taught by means of face to face lectures, lecture notes prepared by the instructor are available in print and electronically, combined with a rich list of recommended bibliography apart from the use of the main textbooks. Internet sources as well as audiovisual material is also used.
