| Learning Outcomes of the course unit | By the end of the course, the students should be able to:- Identify the way that different local government systems operate, their models, rank and responsibilities in local governments.
- Implement the various theories/intervention approaches of the state in cooperation with the local governments and their importance in local and regional development.
- Utilize the dynamics and organization of the local government using the correct techniques and plan interventions on issues and problems related to their professional field.
- Use interpersonal skills when implementing practice strategies, i.e. consensus and conflict, with the use of the appropriate techniques.
- Appreciate the factors of approach of social development through the use of action groups and engage in the necessary actions to form action groups.
- Employ ways of mobilizing and handling the collective participation of citizens.
- Clarify the legitimacy and the relationship of consequences and results when using dynamic techniques. δυναμικών τεχνικών.

Course Contents |
- Concept, historical development of local governments, and the need for decentralized management and delegation.
- Models of local government and decentralization of services and authority.
- Modern problems of local governments and the importance of the function of planned social change.
- Community development approaches: Structure of action groups and intervention techniques for action groups.
- Community development approaches: Collective decision-making bodies, and committee formation processes and holding meetings.
- Processes for public assemblies and mobilization groups, and techniques for handling mobilization groups.
