By the end of the course, the students should be able to:
Explain the concepts and terminologies related to Transcultural Nursing, Cultural Self-Assessment, Religion, Racism, Ethnocentrism, Stereotypes and Cross-Cultural Communication.
Identify the impact of culture on health and healthcare.
Recognise the necessity and importance of patients’ spirituality and religiousness in the provision of culturally sensitive nursing care.
State the components of a Transcultural Healthcare Workforce.
Distinguish Health Traditions Paradigm and Models, Health Belief Systems and Types of Healing Systems.
Analyse Transcultural Nursing Care Theoretical Models.
Employ different approaches in the transcultural nursing care of pregnant women, children and adolescents, adults and older adults, people in pain and with mental illnesses, refugees and immigrants.
Apply Cultural Assessment.
