Learning Outcomes of the course unitBy the end of the course, the students should be able to:
  1. Apply knowledge associated with the provision of care to pediatric patients
  2. Employ the basic knowledge of the profession in practice for addressing the health problems of pediatric patients
  3. Describe the basic general knowledge in the field of study as well as definitions and concepts related to the provision of pediatric care
  4. Show ability to communicate with the child patient / client and his/her family, in order to provide comprehensive care for the users of health services
  5. Demonstrate ability to carry out comprehensive and systematic assessments by using the appropriate for the pediatric patient tools / frameworks
  6. Employ sophisticated techniques for meeting the heath care needs of pediatric patients in planning, implementing and evaluating the appropriateness of individualized programs of care
  7. Illustrate ability to administer safely medicines and other treatments (using nursing skills, interventions / activities for providing optimum care).
  8. Choose the appropriate techniques for communicating effectively with the pediatric patient and his/her family in order to ensure their co-operation and compliance to the recommended treatment

Paediatric medical history and physical examination/ Nutrition and nourishment
The newborn (care, illnesses, diseases)
Infectious diseases/ immunogenic system
Diseases of respiratory system, digestive system, circulatory system, urinary and reproductive system.
Metabolic diseases/ blood diseases
Neoplasms, Rheumatoid disorders of childhood.
Nervomascular disorders and orthopedic anomalies.
Allergy and paediatric dermatology
Paedosurgical problems
