Learning Outcomes of the course unitBy the end of the course, the students should be able to:
  1. Recognize the theory of pain and identify types and characteristics of pain
  2. Assess the care needs of patients with acute and chronic pain and provide appropriate nursing care to patients with acute and chronic pain
  3. Explain the pathophysiology, classification and spread modes of tumors
  4. Assess the care needs and provide appropriate nursing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy
  5. Describe the basic principles of radiation protection, they evaluate the care needs of patients subjected to radiotherapy and provide appropriate nursing care
  6. Possess the right skills for the organization and coordination of laboratory and paraclinical examinations of patients with disorders Kidney, sensory organs, nervous, Kalyptiriou, musculoskeletal, and immune - lymphatic system disorders, sexually transmitted diseases and neoplasms
  7. Recognize the nursing responsibilities related to the organization and coordination of the diagnostic test for patients with disorders Kidney, sensory organs, nervous, Kalyptiriou, musculoskeletal, and immune - lymphatic system disorders, sexually transmitted diseases and neoplasms
  8. Assess needs and implement individualized care plan for patients with disorders Kidney, sensory organs, nervous, Kalyptiriou, musculoskeletal, immune and lymphatic system

Αssessment and nursing management of patients with pain.
Management and nursing assessment of patients with cancer.
Αssessment and nursing management of patients with sexually transmitted diseases.
Αssessment and nursing management of patients with disorders of the immune and lymphatic system.
Management and nursing assessment of patients with disorders of the nervous system.
Αssessment and nursing management of patients with renal and Urinal disorders.
Αssessment and nursing management of patients with musculoskeletal disorders.
Management and nursing assessment of patients with dermatologic disorders.
Αssessment and nursing management of patients with disturbances of vision and hearing.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is delivered to the students by means of lectures, conducted with the help of computer-based presentations. Lecture notes and presentations are available through the web for students to use in combination with the textbooks.
Lectures are supplemented with clinical practice and Training of students in nursing processes and techniques concerning patients with disorders Kidney, sensory organs, nervous, Kalyptiriou, musculoskeletal, and immune -  lymphatic system disorders, sexually transmitted diseases and neoplasms as they are reported in the theoretical part of course.
