| | Learning Outcomes of the course unit | By the end of the course, the students should be able to:- Describe the preventive measures for preserving and promoting the health of: farmers, homeless, immigrants, children, adolescents, men, women and vulnerable groups of all ages.
- Analyze definitions and concepts of public health, community aspects of prevention and health promotion activities in home care, the purpose of epidemiological research in the community and ways to address health problems of patients at home
- Assess nursing care needs for the provision of individualized care at home for patients with chronic with chronic illness, mental illness
- Organize occupational health care, elderly individuals’ care, people with disabilities, home nursing care in primary, secondary and tertiary prevention, health education programs on environmental protection.
- List the roles of Community nurses in Health Centers, in schools, in workplaces, places of entertainment and sports and in environmental health
- Report the preventive measures against infectious diseases, the protection of public health, the role of nurses in home nursing, in educational places and in places of employment of citizens
- Summarize the most important problems of the elderly, the stages of the research process in the community, concepts and definitions of epidemiological research, the necessary measures for tackling violence in the community, the provision of care to people who have suffered violence and to people who abuse drugs
- Appraise the need for the provision of specialized home care for vulnerable populations, the influence of environmental factors hazards (biological, physical, chemical and psychosocial) in human health

| Course Contents | Public health and community. Analysis of the role of the Community Nurse in Health Centers, family, schools, workplaces and places of entertainment and sports, as well as the roles of the nurse in the nursing care for the elderly and in the care of people with disabilities. Infectious diseases and public health protection. Epidemiological research in the community. The drug abuse as a health problem, nursing intervention.
Health of children, adolescents, men, women and vulnerable groups of all ages. Health of farmers and migrants, health problems of the homeless, violence in the community.
The role of the nurse for the promotion of hygiene in living spaces, education spaces and workspaces.
The Nurse and the environment.
