Course Contents | Introduction: Differences between various legislative and ethical regulation. Basic principles of law and ethics the Meaning of Duty, diligence, negligence, contract, right, and obligation. The legislative responsibility. Jurisdiction of the Executive and the sources of law. The State Powers: The role of law within States. The sources of Law within the Republic The legislative process: Explaining deontological rules and understanding the extent of their practical application. Introduction to Health Legislation: The structure of current health system. The administration of Public and Private hospitals. The role of Supervisory, Regulatory and Professional Bodies in Public Health. Introduction in proposed amendments of the General Health System. The role and operation of the Statutory bodies under the Nursing Law. The prerequisites for registration under the relevant legislation. Offences under the relevant Law. The Rights of Patients under the Rights of Patients Act. The expected compliance with the legislative provisions of the Rights of Patients Act. The responsible bodies and procedures under the Rights of Patients Act. The Law of Negligence and the duty of care. Issues in Bioethics and practical application in Nursing: Differences between various legislative and ethical regulation. Basic principles of law and ethics. The Meaning of Duty, diligence,right, and obligation, Beneficence and Non Maleficence. The Principle of Respect of Patients Autonomy. Capacity and Standard of Capacity of Autonomous Choices. The meaning and Law of Informed Consent, Disclosure and the standard of Disclosure, understanding and applicable waivers Birth giving and Abortion and related aspects in Law: Involved Rights, the meaning of Person and Life in law.
