Learning Outcomes of the course unitBy the end of the course, the students should be able to:
  1. Identify the various methods of presenting ones ideas inherent in the writing of a scientific research paper.
  2. Comprehend and write about the methodology used in the research that led to the final solution.
  3. Construct the summary of the research thesis, from a synthesis of the research work executed.
  4. Use a chosen presentation form for the written part of the thesis and apply it to the finished product. Incorporate the graphics and pictures in the finished text in controlled and orderly way.
  5. Prepare and present research in power point form. Identify the main points of the synopsis of the thesis in order to relate them to the presentation in oral form.

Course Contents The course aims to finalize, improve and enrich the analysis, and presentation techniques of the student’s written and presented research diploma work, as well as improve the way he describes his composition orally. The final product is in book form but the research has to be transferred to an oral and visual presentation which will include analysis of examples and the process of the work. Through a set of rules that apply to any scientific work and examples presented, from the professor to the class and from the class to the professor, the aim is to maximise the work’s potential for the student of each of the three studio directions.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods The taught part of the course is delivered to students by means of lectures, conducted by electronic presentations. Many examples of older research papers are presented.
Lectures are supplemented by visiting lecturers/presenters.
