Course Contents

Continuation of the course Interior Design 1: Furthermore it develops the ability in depicting structure, form and volume, through visual solutions, in order to create and invent design solutions which can be applied in real life.

Research Methodology: The importance and usefulness of well founded research, methodology and the application of theoretical knowledge into practice. A real life situation is given which students should form their own research and research conclusions in order to aid their design solutions.

Experimentation with design elements in two dimensional drawings: Line, texture, colour, light. Three-dimensional model for visualizing the form, shape, volume and space. Emphasis is given on materials for both interior and exterior design solutions.

Presentation Skills: A Development of presentation skills from interior design 1 allows students to orally communicate ideas and research findings. Participation in group discussions and debates surrounding various view points of chosen designers and architects.

The Introduction of Architectural Drawing: Knowledge gained through Interior Design 1 and Architectural Drawing 1 is used to illustrate student’s concepts and ideas in order to create a professional project presentation.

Translating 2D ideas into 3D spaces through model making exercises: Giving great attention to model making techniques and materials and methods suitable for interior design model making

Translating 2D ideas into 3D spaces through model making exercises: Attention is focused on photographic techniques to demonstrate, concept, scale and manipulation through model photography. The use of collage is employed to show scale and the addition of real life situations.
