Learning Outcomes of the course unitBy the end of the course, the students should be able to:
  1. Define diverse techniques based on relative research and ongoing studio practices.
  2. Identify working methods and develop relative ideas in relation to the project’s content and its progression.
  3. Employ an ongoing research into visual and theoretical references, related to the given assignment, in the form of a sketch-book- ‘Diary’.
  4. Examine compositional issues and problems through the use of collage, painting and mixed media.
  5. Create interesting associations, metaphors and ideas through the exploration of diverse media and materials in 2D and 3D Form.
  6. Evaluate the process and visual outcome of the project in group critiques and justify their own outcomes.

Course Contents

Studio Art progresses from monochrome toward a full colour spectrum, developing skills of paint handling, colour mixing, composition and use of sculpture materials. Individual expression and concepts are encouraged. Abstract, conceptual and realistic approaches are used allowing the individual to explore his/her own needs.

Emphasis on the development of analytical, research and methodological skills, critical thinking and working processes, which promote experimentation.

Emphasis on development of concept, creative means, in depth research and appropriate associations to critical issues and ideas. Final products should reflect on interesting thinking process, aesthetic values and intelligent creative language.
