Learning Outcomes of the course unitBy the end of the course, the students should be able to:
  1. Explain the basic parameters and concepts of chief-editing.
  2. Describe the system upon which the editorial part of the media is based and functions.
  3. Participate in practical exercises aimed at mastering the day-to day work of an editorial board.
  4. Perform the role of an editor-in-chief and organise the editorial team.
  5. Formulate their own system of running the editorial policy and practice on both written and electronic media.

Course Contents

Introduction to editing-in-chief: Definition and applications of anthropology.

Planning the edition and organising the editorial team.

Systems, methods and contemporary trends in controlling and coordinating the editorial board.

Practical applications in chief-editing.

Social Behaviour and methods of appraisal

Theories of management: the leader model and the manager model.

Theories of societal needs: applications on both written and electronic media.

Dealing with problems in the process of organising an edition.

Team work and effective planning.
