Learning Outcomes of the course unitBy the end of the course, the students should be able to:
  1. Distinguish among the various kinds of current affairs programs and learn how each of them is presented on the radio.
  2. Use the Greek language in the appropriate manner as required by a speaker on the radio
  3. Distinguish the special features of the radio as an audio medium and its advantages.
  4. List and compare the different kinds of the media and assess the role of each one of them.
  5. Detect common mistakes in the production of radio programmes

Course Contents


The different kinds of the media and their contribution to society. Special features of the radio.

The missions and visions of a radio producer/presenter.

The importance of sound and its effect on the individual.

The correct use of the Greek language on the radio.

The importance of the use of correct articulation and rich vocabulary for the creation of a radio program.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Students are taught by means of face to face lectures, lecture notes prepared by the instructor are available in print and electronically, combined with a rich list of recommended bibliography apart from the use of the main textbooks. Internet sources as well as audiovisual material is also used.
