Planned learning activities and teaching methods | The course is modular, thus gradually adding to the student’s knowledge by displaying, in theory and practice, the way in which the social worker can reinforce rehabilitation within therapeutic communities. The experiential nature of many of the examples reinforce the assimilation of the theory.
The above modules are taught within one semester in thirteen weekly sessions of three hours each (a total of 39 hours).
Given the above time limitations and depending on the availability of service networks in the city, visits to agencies that deal with addictions are organized. These agencies deal both with prevention, and rehabilitation and reintegration interventions. The students are encouraged to participate in seminars, conferences or scientific and social events which are relevant to the subject of legal and illegal substance abuse.
