Course ContentsThe main objective of this studio course constitutes the composition and planning of a small group of buildings through the design approach of a complex brief. Moreover, issues of integration in an urban cultural environment should also be taken into account and should be approached through the interaction of proposed built and open space with the anthropogenic context. Studio’s intention is to promote students’ awareness and reflection with fundamental architectural issues through the integration of a new building in a culturally charged context and to enable the student to deal with the following issues: Developing means and tools to deal with complex design issues, research, critical thought, and understanding of integration issues in a given built environment, incorporation of structural issues through the integration of new buildings in a cultural environment and load bearing structure issues.
