Course Details

1. Measure, manage the measurements and represent geometrically an existing situation.
2. Describe the structure, form, static and constructional philosophy of the existing buildings that they imprint.
3. Measure levels and manage the measurements of the optical level.
4. Measure levels and distances and manage the measurements of the digital level.
5. Measure angles and distances and manage the measurements of the total station.
6. Collaborate with the relative authorities on issues of measurement and imprinting.

Introduction to methods and tools of Imprinting. Emphasis on the Architectural Imprinting and the necessary actions step by step 

Imprint a contemporary structure( the classroom ) under the supervision of the lecturer. (Measures ,sketches, photos and architectural drawings).

Optical Level. How to take levels and how to manage these measurement

Digital Level. How to take levels and distances and how to manage these measurements

Imprint an old-traditional structure(traditional building in old Nicosia within the walls) under the supervision of the lecturer. (Measures ,sketches, photos and architectural drawings).

Total station. How to take angles and distances and how to manage these measurements.

Other methods and tools of imprinting. Presentation of Global Positioning System , Laser Scanners, Sattelite Photos, Aerial Photos and other specialised methods that are used in this field.

Demonstration of the methods of imprinting is delivered to the students by electronic presentations by sketches on the whiteboard, by lecture notes and by demonstrations on the site-building that they study 

Demostrations in the area of the university campus of the optical level, the digital level and the total station. The students learn how to take measurements.

The students solve several  exercises managing the measurements of the optical level, the digital level and the total station in the class under the supervision of the lecturer.

Visits to an old-traditional building which is the subject for imprinting

Corrections of the assingments are given during the classes in private and group level
