Course Contents

This course constitutes thefirst part of the Master’s Thesis, which is a research oriented work at theforefront of knowledge within the specialization of the student.

Bythe end of the course, the student must submit and present to his AssessmentCommittee a proposal for his Master’s Thesis. In this proposal, the student isexpected to propose the topic of his project, providing the detailed objectivesand expected contributions of his work, give a complete literature review ofthe current state of knowledge on the issues related to the proposal, andsuggest a methodology and planning for the implementation of the Thesis. Theproposal report must also include any parts of the methodology completed.

    Planned learning activities and teaching methodsAt the beginning of the course, students must consultwith the academic staff and decide on the topic of their Masters Thesis. Afterdeciding on the topic of the Master Thesis, the Program Coordinator, inconsultation with the student and other related members of the Department,forms an Assessment Committee for the student, consisting of three members. Twoof these members must be from the academic staff related to the specializationof the student, where one is the student’s Thesis Advisor. The third member canbe any member of the academic staff of the Program, or an external qualifiedperson.
