Petroleum Engineering
Qualification Requirements
The Program is based on the ECTS credit accumulation mode of study, it requires a Master thesis, and it offers three specializations. The three specializations are:
- Specialization in Oil & Gas Engineering
- Specialization in Offshore Engineering
- Specialization in Petroleum Engineering
Students can be awarded the Master of Science Degree in Oil & Gas and Offshore Engineering upon completion of 90 credits. From these 90 credits, 69 are allocated for mandatory courses and 21 for elective courses. 56 credits are devoted to taught courses, 4 credits to following scientific seminars and 30 credits for the research proposal and the thesis preparation. Specifically, 6 credits for the research proposal and 24 credits for the completion of the thesis. Each specialization requires a different set of mandatory and technical elective courses. The successful graduate is expected to defend his Master thesis, in an oral presentation, before a three member committee that consists of his thesis advisor and two additional faculty members.
