Η Νικολέττα Ιωάννου είναι Βοηθός Διευθύντρια Δημοτικής Εκπαίδευσης. Την τρέχουσα σχολική χρονιά υπηρετεί σε απόσπαση στο Γραφείο Ευρωπαϊκών και Διεθνών Υποθέσεων του Υπουργείου Παιδείας και Πολιτισμού, ενώ έχει εργαστεί με απόσπαση στο Ευρωπαϊκό Πρόγραμμα ΣΩΚΡΑΤΗΣ ως υπεύθυνη της Δράσης Grundtvig που αφορούσε στην προώθηση της Εκπαίδευσης Ενηλίκων. Παράλληλα έχει εργαστεί σε Δημοτικά Σχολεία για δέκα χρόνια. Φοίτησε στην Παιδαγωγική Ακαδημία Κύπρου και ακολούθως πήρε το πτυχίο Επιστημών της Αγωγής του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου. Από το 2000-2003 φοίτησε στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Bath παίρνοντας τον τίλο ΜΑ in Educational Management και από το 2006 μέχρι το 2008 φοίτησε στο Ανοικτό Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου, παίρνοντας τον τίτλο ΜΑ στη Συνεχιζόμενη Εκπαίδευση και Διά Βίου Μάθηση. Είναι κάτοχος διδακτορικού διπλώματος από το Πανεπστήμιο του Nottingham (Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο) στην Εκπαίδευση Ενηλίκων με διδακτορική διατριβή στην Επαγγελματική Ανάπτυξη και Επαγγελματοποίηση του Εκπαιδευτή Ενηλίκων. Από το 2012 συντονίζει την υλοποίηση Σχεδίων Δράσης για την προώθηση του Ευρωπαϊκού Θεματολογίου για την Εκπαίδευση Ενηλίκων (2012-2014, 2014-2015 και 2017-2019). Είναι μέλος διαφόρων επιτροπών για την Εκπαίδευση Ενηλίκων και τη Διά Βίου Μάθηση, τόσο σε εθνικό όσο και σε ευρωπαϊκό επίπεδο.

Nicoletta Ioannou completed her undergraduate studies at the Pedagogical Academy of Cyprus (1993) and at the Department of Education of the University of Cyprus, (B.A., 1999) and her graduate studies at the University of Bath (MA in Educational Management, 2003) and the Open University of Cyprus (MA in Continuing Education, 2008). She holds a Ph.D. in Adult Education by the University of Nottingham. She worked as an elementary school teacher (1993-2002), and afterwards she served the Ministry of Education and Culture in various posts (Officer at the SOCRATES National Agency responsible for Grundtvig Action, 2002-2007, All Day Schools Officer, 2007-2010, Curriculum Development Office, 2010). Since 2010 she is working at the European and International Affairs Office of the Ministry of Education and Culture on secondment. Since 2012 she has been appointed by the Ministry of Education and Culture as the National Coordinator for the promotion of the European Agenda on Adult Learning 2012-14, 2014-15 and 2017-19, and coordinates the implementation of the Cyprus Action Plan in cooperation with several departments of the Ministry of Education and Culture and other external organizations. She has been also a member of the ET 2020 Working Group on Adult Learning of the EC (2012-2015 and 2018-20).
