Pillar 1 - GOALS: Teaching and Learning Practices (policies, procedures, reports, course design, material development, multimedia production, assessment, usability, accessibility)

  • Contribute to the promotion and continuous updating of the teaching and learning practices of the University.
  • Pedagogically and technologically supporting faculty, administrative staff and students.
  • Improve course design and enhance the quality of educational material and content.
  • Increase multimedia production within courses and develop rich, autonomous, digitalized and interactive educational material.
  • Increase interaction, collaboration and communication among students, between students-instructor and between student-content.
  • Promote student engagement, satisfaction and performance.
  • Employ Universal Design Learning (UDL) to increase usability and accessibility.
  • Develop policy on teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Develop supporting processes, guidelines, reports, handbooks, newsletters and materials for faculty members and students.
  • Advance the assessment and feedback methods and processes by employing innovative technologies (i.e. e-assessment tools).
  • Integrate alternative and innovative assessment methods (i.e. self-, peer-, adaptive, automated-assessment).

Pillar 2 - GOALS: Faculty Members and Students Development, Guidance and Support (inside the University)

  • Develop a culture within the University of life long learning and continuous training for professional and personal growth and development.
  • Educate, train and support faculty members and students in the teaching and learning practices.
  • Design, develop and deliver professional development trainings/seminars/webinars/ workshops/ summits for faculty members in collaboration with the P2DF.
  • Employ different modes of delivery for the aforementioned (i.e. face-2-face, blended, online and self-paced - MOOCs).
  • Design, develop and deliver workshops/seminars/webinars/ summits for students.
  • Provide guidance, support and training on departmental, group and personal level for faculty members and students.
  • Develop appropriate processes, procedures and documentation (i.e. tutorials, guidelines) to support and guide faculty members and students. 
  • Develop an accreditation program (i.e. certified trainings) and reward system (incentives and motives) for faculty members and students.
  • Guide and support students in regards to their studies aiming to increase student success, engagement, performance and satisfaction.  

Pillar 3: Professional Development, Consultation and Advising (outside the University)

  • Design, develop and deliver professional development trainings/seminars/webinars/ workshops/ summits for other organizations, institutions, companies and individuals.
  • Employ different modes of delivery for the aforementioned (i.e. face-2-face, blended, online and self-paced - MOOCs).
  • Provide advisory and consulting services to other organizations, institutions, companies and individuals in regards to teaching and learning practices.
  • Design, develop and deliver courses for other organizations, institutions and companies.
  • Design and produce educational material and rich multimedia content for other organizations, institutions, companies and individuals.
  • Develop policies and procedures on teaching and learning practices for other organizations, institutions, companies and individuals.
  • Design and produce assessment methods for other organizations, institutions, companies and individuals.

Pillar 4: Quality Assurance  

  • Design and implement a quality assurance framework for teaching and learning processes.
  • Develop and oversee a quality assurance process based on specific KPIs.
  • Set up quality control mechanisms to:
    • Identify, disseminate and reward "good and best practices" in teaching and learning.
    • Identify gaps and take corrective measures.
  • Promote faculty  members’ and students’ self-assessment processes to promote quality and innovation in teaching and learning.
  • Opt for quality assurance certifications from external bodies.

Pillar 5: Educational and Academic Research

  • Conduct educational and academic research in the field of teaching and learning.
  • Publish in academic journals and present in scientific conferences.
  • Obtain funding from research projects.
  • Collect and use data learning analytics for research and educational purposes to enhance and promote quality and innovation in teaching and learning, thus improving students’ performance, engagement and satisfaction, i.e.:
    • personalize the learning journey for each student, develop students profiles and track performance, attendance, participation, achievements and engagement in relation to educational material, activities, assessment, inform the educational practice of faculty members.
  • Generate reports for University’s academic (i.e. Departments, Rector’s Council) and administrative bodies (i.e. Students and Studies Welfare Services, Admissions).
