CIET Board
CIET Board serves as a strategic and advisory body dedicated to advancing the Center’s mission of fostering pedagogical excellence, innovation, and inclusive, student-centered teaching practices across the university. Its primary purpose is to provide academic leadership and guidance in shaping the Center’s vision, priorities, and initiatives in alignment with the University’s goals, emerging trends in higher education, and quality assurance frameworks. Comprising experienced faculty members, the Board plays a key role in identifying opportunities for professional development, supporting evidence-based teaching practices, and encouraging the adoption of innovative digital tools and methodologies. In addition, the Board advises on the design and evaluation of programs, awards, and activities that promote teaching excellence, such as faculty training workshops, mentoring schemes, and innovation grants. It supports cross-departmental collaboration, contributes to policy development, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement and reflective teaching. Through robust research initiatives and collaborative projects, the Board not only uplifts internal teaching practices but also contributes to the broader educational landscape, empowering both educators and learners to thrive in a rapidly evolving academic environment. The Board also ensures that the Center remains responsive to current and future challenges in higher education, including the effective integration of technology, inclusive pedagogy, sustainability, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning. CIET is staffed by a dedicated team of experts in instructional design and educational technology. Our professionals work in close collaboration with academic staff to design, develop, and evaluate high-quality, engaging, and inclusive learning experiences across all programs of study. Grounded in sound pedagogical principles and informed by evidence-based practices, the team ensures that course materials are aligned with intended learning outcomes, while also being responsive to diverse learner needs. Instructional designers at CIET focus on the pedagogical design of courses and assessments, promoting active learning strategies, reflective practice, and meaningful student engagement. It supports faculty in curriculum enhancement and in the adoption of innovative teaching approaches. The rest of the team specialise in the effective integration of digital tools and emerging technologies into teaching and learning. They offer expert guidance in selecting digital tools, developing interactive digitalized educational material, and exploring solutions such as blended learning, artificial intelligence, learning analytics, and simulations. Together, the team leads faculty training initiatives, facilitates innovation in teaching practices, and promotes digital literacy across the University community. Their work strengthens the quality of teaching and supports the University’s commitment to academic excellence in an evolving higher education landscape.

Collaborating members play a vital role in enriching the work of the Center for Innovation and Excellence in Teaching.
