The School of Arts, Communication, and Cultural Studies at Frederick University consists of the Department of Arts and Communication and the Centre of Languages of the University. The School offers a wide spectrum of programs of study. It focuses on Creative Design and Communication with programs such as Visual Communication, Interior Design, and Fashion & Image Design, as well as Visual Arts, Communication, Journalism, and Mass Media, at undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. levels.

The Arts and Communication Department has a long and successful history in the academic activities of Frederick University and a rich legacy of valuable contributions to the arts and culture of Cyprus due to its dynamic and outward-looking approach.

The courses in all our programs of study are taught by distinguished professionals from all spectrums of the field: designers, applied art scholars, art directors, artists, historians, journalists, art critics, and professionals with national and international achievements both in practice and in research. Their work and publications are well-known and respected by the scientific community worldwide.
The two main aims that depict the vision of the School are:
- Emphasis on the development of professional skills. This aim focuses on the acquisition of the necessary -techniques, skills, and methodologies that are necessary for students to assume productive roles in their professional community, either as creative designers, applied arts scholars, artists, journalists, and communication professionals.
- Development of both critical thinking and the historical perspective that is required for a student to become a fruitful member of society, with vision, creativity, new ideas, and problem-solving skills.

The School is one of the most important centers for the study of Visual Arts and Culture as well as the study of the Art of Communication in Cyprus. It embraces and explores the interconnection between Art, Design, and Communication within the environment of a contemporary society that deals with continuous challenges. The School aspires to further enhance its already firm and solid position as an educational center of excellence not only within Cyprus but in the emerging South-East Mediterranean educational hub.

We strive to educate people, who will be able, with imagination and resourcefulness, to make responsible communication and design contributions to the formation of the society, especially the future society, whose challenges are already becoming evident.
