Mr Ioannis Dimitrakopoulos is a Special Teaching Staff at the Department of Nursing at Frederick University Cyprus. He teaches the laboratories courses Introduction to Nursing, Basic Nursing I and II, Medical Nursing, Surgical Nursing and Hygiene and Emergency Therapeutics at the Department of Nursing and the Department of Pharmacy. Also, Mr Dimitrakopoulos is the Program Coordinator and Senior Lecturer at Frederick Institute of Technology, Diploma “Paramedic Ambulance Crew”.
He graduated with honours from the Nursing Department of Frederick University Cyprus at undergraduate level (BSc General Nursing) and at postgraduate level (MSc Community Health Care, Specialization: Family Health Care). He worked in the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital in Nicosia. He is actively involved in coordinating and conducting scientific conferences and events of the Nursing Department. He served from 2016 to 2020 as the Secretary of the Nicosia District Committee of the Cyprus Nursing and Midwives Association. Additionally in 2013, he received an international scholarship for the INSPPIRE Research Program of the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong and in 2012 he served as a delegate of Cyprus to the Annual General Meeting of the European Association of Nursing Students in Novi Sad, Serbia. His research interests include: Nursing, Nursing Education, Clinical Simulation, History of Nursing, Community / Family Nursing, Cardiovascular Risk Assessment, Nursing Simulation etc. He has a number of publications and presentations in international journals, conferences and scientific meetings.
