Doris Kailos is a fashion and textile designer from Sydney, Australia. She acquired her Master of Teaching degree in Design and Technology from the University of Sydney, Australia in 2003. She also holds a BA in Fashion and Textiles, from the University of Technology, Sydney Australia. Prior to her teaching position at Frederick University in 2013, she was also a member of the teaching staff at Frederick Institute of Technology since 2004. Since 2013 she has been part of the teaching faculty in the School of Art, Communication and Cultural Studies within the Fashion and Image department. Her contribution to the department has been instructive as well as co-writing the new fashion program and assisting in all other managerial tasks within the department. In the teaching field she teaches Pattern Cutting and Garment Making, Textiles Design and Marketing for Fashion. She has also specialized in Computer Aided Pattern Cutting. Parallel to her academic career she has also been working as a freelance pattern cutter in women’s wear for a Cypriot company as well as designing Children’s wear collection and theatrical costumes for ‘Short Stories’.
