Michalis Menicou is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He teaches in under graduate and postgraduate programs of studies in the School of Engineering and particularly in the Mechanical Engineering Department. His research interests can be identified around three main areas, namely, energy economics, food sustainability/ security, and overall industrial management. Over the past few years, he has set up and coordinated more than ten (10) international research projects with partners from Europe and the USA. Funding for these projects was secured by competitive means either from the European Commission or the Republic of Cyprus. His research group maintains robust industrial links with the Industry in the fields of Energy, Government, and Food (Aquaculture). Michalis holds a PhD from the University of Sheffield, as well as an MSc and a Bachelor degree from the same University. He also holds an MBA in Industrial Management from Sheffield Hallam University. He worked with many companies in Cyprus to develop new products and services. His teaching activities are in School of Engineering and focus on energy economics, engineering economics and operations management both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He also has teaching assignments with the Cyprus’ Open University at postgraduate level.
