Frederick University hosts the screening of awarded film 'Marie Heurtin'

February 13th, 2024

The screening of the film is co-organized by the School for Deaf Children Welfare Fund (TESKP), the School for the Deaf, Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, and the Friends of Cinema Society, as part of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the School's founding.

In 1885, Marie Heurtin was born deaf and blind, without a way of communicating with the world around her. Her family sends her to the Larnay Institute in central France, where a community of Catholic nuns manages a school for deaf girls. There, Sister Marguerite sees the potential in Marie and, despite the challenges she faces, vows to bring the girl out of the darkness in which she was born.

You can watch the movie trailer here.

The screening of the film will take place on Wednesday 21st of February at 20:00 in Nicosia (Tassos Papadopoulos Lecture Hall) and on Wednesday 28th of February at 20:00 in Limassol.

Free entrance. Pre-booking required. Please RSVP by 20/02/2024 for Nicosia and 27/02/2024 for Limassol at: 22 305422 / 99 412442 – text only.
