
New application deadline for a Michael Frederickou Scholarship

The application deadline for the Michael Frederickou Scholarships has been extended to August 20, 2025. The scholarships, offered by Frederick University and Frederick Institute of Technology in memory of their founder, is open to interested applicants.
The four full scholarships are awarded annually to first-year students.
The scholarships will be given based on socioeconomical criteria, as well as the academic performance of candidates.
Candidates are advised to go through the present announcement's text, especially the terms and conditions, and ensure they meet the criteria before the completion and submission of the application.

SCHOLARSHIPS
For the academic year 2025-26 the following scholarships will be awarded:
Frederick University
• Two (2) full scholarships to new incoming undergraduate students for the academic year 2025-26, with the possibility of renewal for the whole duration of studies.
• One (1) full scholarship to a new incoming undergraduate student who has resided in Kaimakli or Pallouriotissa for the past six years, for the academic year 2025-26, with the possibility of renewal for the whole duration of studies. For this scholarship, the submission of a certificate confirming the applicant's residence in the community of Kaimakli or Pallouriotissa for the past six years is required.
Frederick Institute of Technology (FIT)
• One (1) full scholarship to a new incoming student for the academic year 2025-26, with the possibility of renewal for the whole duration of studies.
CRITERIA FOR RENEWAL AND SCHOLARSHIP PERCENTAGES
After the academic year 2025-26, the scholarship will be renewed every semester taking into consideration the overall performance (CGPA) of the students in the previous academic semester and according to the following table:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. The scholarships are awarded on the condition that interested individuals meet the admission criteria of the study program they apply for.
2. Eligible applicants are individuals coming from families with a per capita family income of up to 19,500 euros. In calculating the per capita income, the parents and dependent children of the family are taken into account. (Dependent children include children under the age of 18, or above the age of 18 who are in full-time education or in mandatory military service).
3. Eligible scholarship applicants are:
• Individuals who hold Cypriot citizenship and/or are citizens of a member state of the European Union, provided that for a period of three years, prior to the start of their studies, they have resided in Cyprus for a continuous period of at least thirty (30) months and continue to reside in Cyprus during the period of submission of their application.
• Individuals who are not Cypriot citizens or citizens of member state of the European Union, provided that they reside permanently in Cyprus and have graduated from a Secondary School in Cyprus.
4. Only individuals who are registered or will be registered as new, first-year students in academic year 2025-26 are eligible to apply. Transfer students are not eligible to apply.
5. Scholarships are not retroactive, nor can they be combined with any other scholarship or discount offered by Frederick University or Frederick Institute of Technology.
APPLICATION SUBMISSION
1. Interested candidates are required to complete the scholarship application form.
2. The completed applications with the required documentation should be submitted electronically at mfscholarships@frederick.ac.cy by the 20th of August 2025.
EVALUATION, SELECTION PROCEDURE, AND RESULTS
All duly completed applications that are submitted within the set timeframe and are accompanied by the required documentation, will be evaluated by a Selection Committee, appointed by Frederick University.
Applications will be ranked according to a scoring system that is based on socio-economic criteria and the academic performance of the candidates in secondary education.
