High Attendance and Key Speeches Mark the Opening of the International CASE25 Conference

The first day of the International Conference CASE25 (Conference on Advancements in Sustainable Engineering), organized by the School of Engineering in Limassol, is taking place today with great success.

The opening session was dedicated to the memory of the late Professor Marios Fyrillas, featuring a speech by the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Michalis Menoikou, and addresses from the CASE25 Chairman, Associate Professor Paris Fokaides, the University Rector, Professor Giorgos Demosthenous, the European Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans, Costas Kadis, and the Greek Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou.

The first day concludes at 6:00 PM with a rich program of presentations and discussions. The conference continues tomorrow, Friday, September 12, with new sessions and scientific presentations.

The conference program covers a broad range of topics. Notably, research papers will focus on innovative technologies in renewable energy and hydrogen, power, control, and communication systems, materials innovation, construction and industrial engineering, as well as digital assessment of integrated and smart buildings. In total, 95 papers from 16 countries, representing 47 universities, research centers, and organizations, will be presented.
