Memorandum of Understanding with the Cyprus Association of Civil Engineers

The Department of Civil Engineering at Frederick University held a meeting with the Cyprus Association of Civil Engineers (CYACE), during which a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two parties.

The Memorandum was signed by Dr. Dimitris Nikolaides, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Frederick University, and Mr. Kyriakos Tsioupanis, President of the Cyprus Association of Civil Engineers (SPOLMIK).

The memorandum concerns collaboration in various areas, such as the education of young engineers, educational visits, informative lectures, research, and more. The common goal of Frederick University and the Cyprus Association of Civil Engineers is the proper education, continuous training, and up-to-date information for students, who will form the new generation of civil engineers. Through various initiatives, these future professionals will be better prepared to meet the increased demands of the civil engineering profession. As a first step, in November, an informative lecture will be held so that students can become more familiar with the Association and be encouraged to participate in its work. Later, educational visits will follow to civil engineering projects, such as large-scale construction projects and infrastructure works.

The Department of Civil Engineering at Frederick University aims for continuous and constructive collaboration with CYACE, as the principal representative body of civil engineers in Cyprus, as well as with other professional organizations in the field.
