Mechanical Engineering: Advancing HVAC Education through the Mitsubishi AirCon Lab
On May 4, Professor George Karagiorgis and Dr. Paris Fokaides welcomed representatives of CYPIN Ltd, the official distributor of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Thermal Systems, to the School of Engineering Lab, where the Mitsubishi AirConLab operates.
Following a productive meeting with Manos Michaelides, Operations Manager, and Pantelis Cleanthous, Commercial Manager at CYPIN Ltd, along with members of the Department of Mechanical Engineering faculty, the participants discussed ways to further expand their collaboration.
The discussion focused on strengthening hands-on training and further upgrading the laboratory infrastructure, with the aim of advancing the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and AirConditioning) education offered to the University’s Mechanical Engineering students.
The meeting also included discussions on:
- Expanding academia–industry collaboration
- Supporting student placements and career opportunities
- Exploring future research and innovation initiatives
