Call for Expression of Interest for Academic Appointments
The Frederick School of Medicine invites Expressions of Interest from outstanding academics who wish to join a new medical school committed to excellence in medical education, clinical practice, research, and innovation.
The School is being established with a curriculum based on the internationally respected University of Manchester Medical School programme. This collaboration ensures that the structure, learning outcomes, and educational philosophy of the Manchester curriculum — renowned for its integration of clinical experience, research-informed teaching, and patient-centred learning — form the foundation of the new degree. At the same time, the programme will be thoughtfully adapted to reflect the healthcare priorities, regulatory framework, and cultural context of Cyprus, ensuring that graduates are prepared to meet local and regional medical needs while benefiting from an internationally respected academic framework.
This programme represents a distinctive offering in medical education and will be delivered through the Frederick School of Medicine in Limassol, scheduled to launch in September 2028 in the new purposely designed building under development.
As part of its foundation phase, the Frederick School of Medicine seeks to identify highly qualified individuals interested in academic leadership and faculty appointments across a broad range of disciplines who will participate in the development, accreditation, and strategic setup of the School leading up to and including its launch in 2028.

- Contribute to the implementation and continuous enhancement of a modern, integrated medical curriculum based on the University of Manchester model.

Candidate Profile
Successful candidates will typically possess:
- A doctoral degree, medical degree, or equivalent qualification relevant to the discipline.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, clinical practice, research, or academic leadership.
- Experience in curriculum development, accreditation procedures, or educational innovation (desirable).
- A commitment to student-centred education and professional development.
- Evidence of scholarly activity and academic achievement appropriate to career stage.
- The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
Expression of Interest Submission

- A curriculum vitae.
- A brief statement of interest (maximum two pages) outlining:
- Academic and professional expertise.
- Areas of teaching and research interest.
- Previous leadership, accreditation engagement, or curriculum development experience.
- The nature of appointment sought (full-time, part-time, or visiting) and employment start availability.
Selection Process
This Expression of Interest process is intended to establish a pool of prospective academic staff and academic leaders for future appointments. Submission of an Expression of Interest does not constitute a formal application for employment.
Suitable candidates will subsequently be invited to participate in discussions regarding specific academic opportunities as the School expands its faculty complement.
