Actions Awards

The Michael Frederickou Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Actions Awards recognize and celebrate members of the University community - faculty, staff, researchers, students, and alumni - who actively promote the SDGs and, through their work, inspire others to create meaningful change.

Award Categories

The University will recognize:
• Impactful Research, Practices or Initiatives
Activities or actions led by members of the University community that demonstrate significant impact in advancing one or more SDGs.
• Outstanding Individuals
Individuals who exemplify commitment to the SDGs and demonstrate that each of us has the ability to inspire and enact change.

Criteria
Submissions should demonstrate how the nominee’s activities contribute to at least one of the following:

• Mobilizer: Mobilizes others to take action for the SDGs.
• Inspirer: Inspires a shift in attitudes or behaviour in support of the SDGs.
• Connector: Connects people and/or diverse partners, bridging the gap between citizens and institutions to advance progress on the SDGs.
• Innovator / Doer: Implements innovative ideas or projects, or takes concrete actions towards achieving one or more SDGs.

Multiple awards may be granted for actions addressing different SDGs.

Eligibility

All members of the University community - faculty, staff, researchers, students, and alumni - are eligible to apply or be nominated.

Procedure
Nominations and applications may be submitted through the following routes:

• Self-Nomination:
Interested applicants are invited to apply by completing the application form no later than Sunday, 24 May 2026.
• Nomination by a Member of the University Community:
Nominations may be submitted by completing the nomination form no later than Sunday, 31 May 2026.
